Elijah was born and raised in Watertown, Wisconsin, and graduated from Watertown High School in 2000. Immediately after graduation, he entered the United States Army as an All-Source Intelligence Analyst. In 2003, he deployed to Iraq. Upon returning from Iraq in 2004, he separated from the Army and attended UW Waukesha’s Criminal Justice Associate Degree Program. Through his experiences with the military medical and mental health systems, the VA medical system, and various county and state agencies, he believes that he can drive change through administration and policy. However, just as equal a passion is that of treating substance abuse disorders and associated issues, including trauma and biopsychosocial dysfunction due to substance use. Throughout his studies and practical experiences, Elijah has gained valuable training in providing treatment services above and beyond standard substance abuse counseling. He is trained and capable of providing intensive Cognitive-Behavioral and Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy modalities and incorporates each of these as needed during treatment. His education, training, and experience in case management also help to connect clients with much-needed services throughout the community. |
